Hunter Valley Wine Festival 2017 at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley
A record number of exhibitors put on a show for wine-lovers at this year’s Hunter Valley Wine Festival.
More than 3,000 people made their way to Crown Plaza Hunter Valley to enjoy the wide array of wine, entertainment and food.
The number of exhibitors at this year’s event was 62, up from 49 last year.
Festival organiser Jenny Farrell said the day was a smashing success.
“All the exhibitors were very happy, all the punters were over the moon,” she said.
The Rural Fire Service also reported that they collected triple the raffle money that they made in 2016.
Ms Farrell said the mood was lifted by great weather, which hasn’t always been the case in previous years.
All the exhibitors were very happy, all the punters were over the moon.
The format also ensured fantastic behaviour, Ms Farrell said. Wine was purchased by the glass and bottle sales were sealed for people to enjoy afterwards.
“We didn’t have to kick anyone out,” she said.
The event was the fifth annual Hunter Valley Wine Festival. Ms Farrell said it had grown and improved each year.
“In 25 years it will be enormous!” She said.
